Are you passionate about Indigenous food sovereignty, decolonial practices, and community-driven research? Join the Lakes Secwepemc Foodland Conservation Society in enacting Secwepemc laws and oral histories (Stseptekwle) to protect, conserve, and regenerate Secwepemc biocultural heritage.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct and document Secwepemc oral histories.
• Engage Elders, knowledge holders, and subsistence harvesters to ground research in community wisdom.
• Develop ethical research practices rooted in Secwepemc traditions.
• Mobilize knowledge through membership drives and advocacy.
• Analyze and share findings through reports, articles, and presentations.
• Develop frameworks that challenge colonial systems and uplift Indigenous governance.
Focus Areas:

• Biocultural Heritage
• Food Sovereignty
Qualifications:
• Master’s or Ph.D. in relevant fields such as Indigenous law or environmental resource management.
• Experience in decolonizing research and oral history methods.
• Secwepemc or Indigenous identity preferred.
